As announced at the end of last year, we are planning to have the first Swiss Chapter Meeting of 2015 this March.
The meeting will be structured in two parts:
Part 1: Formalities regarding last year’s chapter activities and annual statement
Part 2: Presentation and discussion
“Long-Term Strategies for Increased Recycling of Automotive Aluminum and Its Alloying Elements” by PhD Candidate Amund N. Løvik from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)
Llink to the paper: http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/es405604g
Amund is a PhD student at the Industrial Ecology Programme at NTNU who is using material flow analysis to study linkages between material cycles with a case study on the influence of alloying elements and impurities on future aluminum recycling. He recently won The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) Subject Award – Recycling for the paper “A Material Flow Model for Impurity Accumulation in Beverage Can Recycling Systems”, which was presented at the 2014 Annual Meeting & Exhibition of The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society in San Diego, California, together with supervisor Prof. Dr. Daniel B. Müller.
The proposed dates for the Chapter Meeting are March 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26 at 18:30 in ETH Zurich. Please fill in this doodle to let us know the dates that best suit you: http://doodle.com/9mw8bk5med38wd6h. We will inform the final date on due time before the meeting.
